Now that I have a rough goal to achieve of $1,500,000, I need a way to chart my progress. My favorite tool for this is Yodlee OnCenter. It is a site that aggregates all of your logins and passwords for different accounts, such as bank accounts, brokerage, 401ks, loans, and credit cards. It even keeps up with all your frequent flyer miles and various other points. It can tally up all your assets, subtract all your liablities, and show you your net worth on a daily basis. Try it out, it’s well organized, free, and I use it every day!
Alternatives to Yodlee include Microsoft Money and Intuit Quicken, but those cost money, and Yodlee is free and you can log in anywhere. Also, for some reason Bank of America charges to sync with Quicken, so I dropped it after a short trial. For the rightfully paranoid, Yodlee is probably a target for hackers trying to get at all those passwords. But since I log in just about every day to keep track of my many accounts, any sort of unauthorized withdrawal will be noticed immediately. And I figure it’s just as likely that someone will hack into my bank’s website as Yodlee’s, so at least this way I can nip it in the bud.

Previous: What is financial freedom?
I thought I was the only fan of Yodlee! How funny I missed this post when digging around your archives…
How do you think the GBI product compares? Now that it’s free I am interested, but I’d prob have to maintain both GBI and quicken since my quicken goes back to 1998 and I’m attached tothat history.
Yodlee feels pretty easy to just add accounts and track lump sums of money…can you use GBI that way? Or is it really comparable only to quicken and MS money?
My bank, Wachovia, has a service like this that they call “One Stop”. So far I have found it to be really helpful. The only problem is my mortgage company (also Wachovia) doesn’t have online access yet, and I haven’t been able to add my 529 accounts to the total view, so I’m always getting a less-than-complete view of my net worth. Also, I can’t speak to whether it interfaces well with Quicken, etc, because I’m still doing my budget manually with Excel, so I haven’t tried to extract the data from Wachovia One Stop.
Another option is MSN Money’s “My Money,” a free service that tracks account balances.
MSN Money – That’s just Yodlee being licensed by Microsoft, it’s all the same stuff underneath. Citibank also used to use it, as well as Bank of America and Compass Bank. Probably Wachovia too. It’s all the same, but it’s all useful too.
Caitlin – GBI does not sync online, you need to upload all the transactions manually, at least for now. Think of it as an free online Money/Quicken, but without internet syncing.
Being pretty consumer saavy, I would have to admit that i would be pretty nervous about having 1 server store all my account logins for financial information. I say this because recently there have been millions of people having their personal information stolen from hackers that have broken into various companies databases. I would think this type of service would be a boon for a hacker to get ahold of.
While handy, I much prefer a client side application to do this for me rather than submitting all my information to someone else.
Just my 2 cents.
Even BoFA offers a similar service under the My Portfolio tab. So, I feel its ok for me to add the account info for my other accounts into this single site & get all the details in a single location.

Totally agree with “jp”. Your 2 cents worth Million dollars, atleast. I have been using Quicken and it does good job, besdies I spend some time balancing everything manually but atleast I have peace of mind. No website is hacker safe, for sure. But putting all the “eggs in one basket” is much more riskier.
…2cents from me as well…
I use Fidelity’s Yodlee version however they don’t have Emigrant Diret yet, i guess they haven’t tested the thing fuly??
I’ve been checking Yodlee.
Did you know that if somebody gets your Yodlee password, they can “see” all your passwords to all your banks!!??
I see there’s a link “show password” below each bank name… me not like !!
Why do you use the yodlee software to monitor your financial performance when you have Quicken and Money? Just curious. I use Quicken, alot. These other tools seem pretty well constructed. But why take more time to monitor on a second or third platform?
I actually don’t use Money or Quicken to monitor finances overall, as they both don’t sync well with all my banks. I only use Quicken to monitor expenses imported from credit card files.
Now that Yodlee has come up with a new version, Jonathan, what do you think of it? I personally liked the OnCenter version.
No, i have been using yodlee thru chase, the passwords are hodden, all you see is a set of astericks where you input the password info.
The beauty of yodlee is you can be on any computer anywhere in the worls, i used it when i went to Baghdad for 7 months…
all i can say is INVALUABLE !!!
Just FYI. Wachovia’s OneStop is very much Yodlee.

And to click on the onestop link takes you to seamlessrouter…then https://onestop.wachovia.yodlee.com.

Is the Bank of America service free, and does anybody have anything good or bad to say about it?
I just got notification that Wachovia will bestopping one stop access to it’s customers who do not use thier brokerage srvice. I think they will lose customers to other banks that will still provide it. I myself have started looking for another bank
I, too, am disappointed that Wachovia is getting rid of OneStop for checking/savings account customers. It took a while before I signed up for it and now that it’s indispensible to me, they decide to get rid of it. I probably am going to change banks also, seeing as how OneStop was the only thing that kept me from cancelling all of my Wachovia accounts. My checking account is still there [for now], but I cancelled my savings and money market and moved the cash to ING because Wachovia was paying 0.05% APY.
The good news is that Fidelity has the same product called Full View and I have several accounts with them so I will move all of my data over. Hopefully, there is an easy way to export/import.
I’m going to have to check out this yodlee, I think it’s going to make me feel bad for purchasing quicken, lol.
I ended up staying with Wachovia and opening up a brokerage account. It turned out to be a good thing because there was no minimum balance that I’m aware of and, now, for the first time in years, I’ve bought stocks. Let’s just hope the market stays hot.
I just want to know if there is a way to import data from one PFM to another like, export my data from Yodlee and import it into myPortfolio or Fullview or easy view??
Anyone has any thought on it?
