The nice FedEx lady just dropped off my own brand new 2nd Generation 2GB Silver iPod Nano – free (of course) courtesy of KeyBank. Thanks KeyBank! Unfortunately, it looks like the promotion is now over. Hopefully everyone who participated gets their’s soon too.

It’s stuff like this that help me make an extra few thousand dollars a year from various offers. Won’t you subscribe and join me? Here’s a nice picture of my new Nano:

Nanolicious!

I’m very happy I got the new version and also 2 gb as opposed to the 1 gb one mentioned initially. Man, Apple really knows to how package their products so you want to just rip open the package and play with the darn thing. Off to eBay before I change my mind and decide to keep it!

  1. Ah, shoot! They’re doing 2nd generation ones? I didn’t sign up, becuase I thought it’d be a 1st.

  2. Not EXACTLY free b/c they say it will be reported on a 1099-INT form.

Just a shade above free at DIRT CHEAP. 😉

  3. Speaking of free Nanos, I was wondering if you would be able to confirm this…you’ve written about a free Nano with Ameritrade, and that one option would be to invest in a 9mos cd at 5.1 in order to meet the 10k requirement. I’ve just received an email from them that when you “sell” the cd, the minimum commission would be $40? Didn’t know that…Thanks.

  4. I signed up for the ameritrade one too. I didn’t receive anything about the $40 charge. If that’s true, yuck! I didn’t realize that…

  5. This was the email I’ve received after inquring about their cds:

    Prospective Client,

TD Ameritrade does offer Certificates of Deposit (CD) to our
clients. If you would like to place a trade on these, please
contact our Special Products department at 800-669-3900, or
402-970-5805 if calling from outside the United States. This
department is available Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to
    4:30 p.m. CST.

Please keep in mind that the commission for the purchase of a
Brokered CD is paid for by the issuer. The commission for the
sell of a Brokered CD is paid for by the client:

    ? point ($5/$1000 face) for 1-50 bonds.
? point ($2.50/$1000 face) for additional bonds on same order.
    40.00 minimum commission applies.

  6. Thanks for the info. I wonder if I can get out of paying it, because I never received that info.

  7. today while in keybank near me, i saw they have an i-pod shuffle offer now! thru oct 31.
are i-pod shuffles worth it? what’s your opinion? thanks!

  8. I see you apply for many CC’s that offer free stuff…how does this affect your FICO? How many credit cards do you own?

  9. Hi Christy,
Sorry for confusing you…I just clarified with an Ameritrad csr yesterday and he reassured that as long as you let the CD reached maturity, there would be no commissions of fees deducted. So rest assure 🙂

  10. Oh great! Thank for checking Danielle! 🙂

  11. not too happy here. they sent the ipod fedex to my apt., apparently no signature was required. so they left it outside my door and it was stolen.

  12. The onus should be on Fedex/Keybank to get it to you, shouldn’t it?

  13. here is the offer ipod touch from keybank in my area (ann arbor)
