The Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Shopping program is like other cashback shopping portals (eBates $10 bonus, TopCashBack, etc), except that they give you Alaska Airlines miles per dollar spent as a reward.

They just sent me a new promotion where if you just sign up to receive marketing e-mails, you can get 250 bonus miles. (Stay signed-up until the miles post, and then unsubscribe if you wish.) For an additional 500 bonus miles, make a cumulative spend of $25 or more before taxes and shipping fees with any participating online retailer. Overstock.com, Kohl’s, LivingSocial, and Staples are some examples.

Earning miles this way will also reset your miles expiration date, which for Alaska Air is 24 months from most recent activity. Offer expires 10/31/13. Bonus miles will post 8-10 weeks after that.

Terms and conditions:*Offer valid from 9/27/13 – 10/31/13. To qualify for the first 250 bonus mile offer, you must sign up to receive any of the Mileage Plan Shopping email streams (log in to Mileage Plan Shopping, click on “My Shopping Account” and update your email preferences in the “Profile” tab). You must remain opted-in to receive marketing emails until the bonus miles post to your Mileage Plan account. To qualify for the additional 500 bonus miles, you must make a cumulative spend of $25 or more before taxes and shipping fees with any Mileage Plan Shopping online retailer during the time of the promotion. The maximum number of bonus miles that can be awarded to each qualifying member through this promotion is 750 bonus miles. The bonus miles will post to your Mileage Plan account within 8 to 10 weeks after the promotion end date.

  1. I don’t see Groupon. I do see Living Social.

  2. Thanks, you’re right, I’m not sure why I thought Groupon was included.
