BP has a promotion starting today called Thank You Days where you can get a $10 BP gift card after your 5th fill-up of 8 gallons or more. At $3 a gallon and assuming you stop at 8 gallons per fill-up, this will save you 25 cents per gallon. Not bad, considering you can still use your credit card and get rewards. I already get 5% cash back on gas with the PenFed Platinum Cashback Rewards card.
The program begins on 12/1/10 and ends on 3/1/11. All qualifying purchases must be completed between 12/1/10 and 3/1/11, or when Loyalty Card supplies are exhausted, whichever occurs first. […] $10 BP REWARD CARDS EXPIRE ON 9/6/11. Offer not valid in New Jersey. […] Limit three (3) $10 BP Reward Cards per person and/or email address per household.
You do have to track some things online. Thanks to reader Drew for the tip.
Too bad BP stations around me are branded as ARCO and AMPM stations, which only accept cash and debit cards (the latter they charge a $0.45 transaction fee.)
This started in my area about a month ago. Although it’s fairly obvious, you do have to run inside to get the card each time from the clerk….so if you are in a rush and there is a line of people redeeming lottery tickets, it can be a bit of a hassle. Still worth it though in my opinion.
So, $0.25 per gallon is supposed to make us buy gas from BP after the gulf disaster?
I like the fact that gas stations offer these promotions. Obviously they are trying to attract new business, but they still help us as gas-consuming drivers!
I’m giving back to my readers as well with a $25 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway. It’s fun to give back once in a while.
I already have received 11 of these cards, and registered for 2 of the $10 gift cards.
Jesse Ventura’s BP episode (available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWVQvVSeRdA) has me questioning whether I should do business with BP after this promotion. Any thoughts?
If it’s true that the oil companies are making ~$0.10/gallon, and I’m taking full advantage of this promotion (only filling up in 8-gallon increments), isn’t BP losing money off of me (for the duration of this promotion)?
I have 3 of these cards so far! Almost to 5..Has anyone successfully redeemed the $10 gift card? Just curious if it was a smooth process!
When I search for BP gas station on google maps, I get a bunch of 76 stations. Does a 76 station qualify?
I would never buy from BP and I hope they go out of business.
I can no longer get the cards at the BP station that I trade at , they say that they have no more and will get no more .
How can I get cards for the receipts I now have .
@Merle – On the back of the promo cards, it states that the offer is only valid until a set date or until card supplies (limited) are gone. So, chances are that the BP station you go to has just ran out of them. You might just try another one around town to see if they have them. I would just make sure to call before driving there.
I got four cards but on the fifth fill up they were out of cards and not getting anymore in, what luck
Jacob – I just entered 15 codes. Everything went smooth and then I received an email from confirming that my gift card should arrive in 4-6 weeks.
John – I actually have one extra code if you want it.
Good to hear Adam! Thanks for letting me know!
Adam – Can you send me the one exra code you have to davidlenin@rediffmail.com. I have four and need one more. Thanks.
