Walletpop had a good article last week about cheap major league baseball tickets being available on StubHub.com. The season hasn’t started yet, so planning ahead and grabbing $2-$10 tickets can make for some reasonably cheap fun. I also found an upgrade to some nice box seats for only $40.
Stubhub’s service fee equals 10% of the full price of all the tickets in your order ($5 minimum per order), and there is also a $4.95 delivery fee (per order). Yes, it’s a bunch of fees, but just look at the total price and you can still find some deals. I’d like to see all the baseball stadiums someday, although I’m falling behind as the Astrodome and old Yankee Stadium have already been replaced! Fenway Park is my current favorite, although Wrigley Field is the next one I most want to visit.
I just bought some tickets for a concert through stub hub a week ago, and they have 25% bing cashback right now making the deal even sweeter. I will say howerver the 25% may be a glitch of sorts because when you go to the site through bing it will say 10% but then when you actually check out it will give you 25% BCB… that was a week ago, not sure if its still active, but definitely worth it. The cashback only takes 10 days to clear and is currently processing to my paypal 🙂
update: I just checked slickdeals and apparently it may have died yesterday? but still 10% sounds like its still active which is better than nothing.
Don’t give up on seeing the Astrodome! You can still catch a high school football game there, and some Houston Rodeo events are held there as well. It truly is the 8th wonder.
@bobby – Good tip on Bing cashback, but it looks completely dead now? I don’t even see 10% back.
@Michael – I’ve been to the Astrodome and old Yankee already, I just meant that I now have to visit the new Minute Maid Park as well to be able to say I’ve visited all the MLB stadiums. The list keeps getting bigger!
Target Field opens in Minneapolis this season.
Give it up. I had the same goal and now I’m basically starting over at about a dozen parks. I can’t seem to make it to more than one a year, so I’ll never see all of them!
I have used StubHub a lot, for baseball and football and been relatively pleased with the results.
I would love to see all the baseball parks, but doubt I will make it. I have made it to about 1/4 so far…
for all of you who despise stubhub, I happened to stumble upon another site the other day that seems to have much lower prices than stubhub (with pretty much the same inventory).
The site is http://www.ticketdance.com and I got a discount code “VIP” that saves 3% on every order.
Everytime I need to see a game I find the prices on Stubhub to be 5-10% higher than ticketdance.com … just my 2 cents
