Visit any page inside the Amazon.com Video on Demand store (such as Transformers 2) and click on the link below the preview that says “Have a promotion code? Redeem a gift card or promotion code” and enter AVODGIFT.
While intended to be towards a VoD rental purchase, when I tried basically just increased my gift certificate balance by $4 and you can use it for anything. Credit expires 1/3/10. Enjoy!
Promotional offer valid for a limited time only and subject to change. Promotional offer is valid from 12/23/2009 through 01/03/2010. Your code must be used by 01/03/2010 11:59 PM PST and may be redeemed only for purchase (on ownership or rental basis) of digitally-formatted movies or TV shows then available at Amazon Video On Demand.
While using the promo code did increase my total gift balance inside the VoD store, it did not increase it elsewhere on Amazon. So it looks like you can only use it for VoD. (I’m not complaining, mind you!)
Cool. Now I can watch some movie that I would have never paid for. 🙂
Awesome it worked for me!
Nice I just bought a DVD and they sent me a $5 gift code, so now I have $9
Yes, works in VoD only for me, too. But that’s perfect for this long and (by the looks of it) very dreary weekend. Happy holidays everyone, and thanks for another great year of blogs Jonathan!
Looks like it is indeed VoD only. When purchasing an mp3 download, it only used my previous $5 mp3 promotional credit.
I got to watch Star Trek for free. Thank you Johnathan. Transformers 2 will have to wait a bit. I dunno if I’d pay to use the service but I’d imagine many people will (especially when I have…”alternatives”).
Business model is quite sound.
Thanks again.
