Here’s one for the skiers and snowboarders out there. Until 1/15, grab a free 2009/10 Basic Tahoe Card from Snowbomb.com, which offers free discount lift tickets (electronic only). You can also get a free subscription to Snowboard or FreeSkier magazine. Usually costs $25.
Simply create a new account at SnowBomb.com with the promo bode snow1970. You should receive immediate confirmation, with the magazine sub option on the bottom of the page. Credit to FW user FatMattE.
Account Activated
You have completed the activation process. You now have access to the cheapest prices in the SnowBomb online store for the 2009/10 season.
The discounts aren’t awesome, but sometimes it can be the best deal available. For more ski deals, check out SlidingOnTheCheap.
The subscription form says you need a snowbomb card# but creating an account doesn’t give you one, nor does it give you a free tahoe card…
Once you activate, you are allowed to buy discounted lift tickets which you print out and bring to the ski resort. It is not their “full” Silver tahoe card which costs $40 and includes a free ticket to a smaller resort.
So you don’t really get a free Basic Tahoe card, nor do you get a free magazine subscription because a card# is required…
Eh? It would seem you get exactly what is listed here as the “2009/10 Basic Tahoe Card” that costs $25.

You at least don’t get the magazine subscription, because you don’t get a tahoe card NUMBER which is required for it–using the promo code (or making up a number at random) gets you a confirmation page saying your first issue will be in September. And I’m still convinced that 1) you don’t actually get a free basic tahoe card by registering with that promo code and 2) even if you do the basic tahoe “card” gives you very little if anything–in fact all it says you get on their site is “Unlimited ACCESS to SnowBomb’s elite online lift ticket store.” No discounts other than those you already get from shopping with them instead of buying direct.
I second Polarfoil…Jon take this article out, nothing on this one is for free.
I’m still not convinced. If you log out of the site completely, you can’t even add any discounted lift tickets to your cart. It asks you to activate your card if you click “buy”.
However, once you do activate as indicated in the post, you can add discount lift tickets and I can add to cart, add credit card info, and reach all the way through the checkout until the final confirmation page.
In any case, it is supposed to expire 1/15.
It is strange that we seem to be getting different results. When I am logged out completely (anonymous user), I CAN add things to my cart at the discounted rates and complete the check-out. Who knows…
Some shell gas stations are running a promo for buy one get one lift tickets at participating slopes:
